What is the Estate?
The Channels Estate comprises all the area within the red line boundary shown on the plan here, and the Site Wide Space is shown tinted blue.
As can be seen there are four main areas and a number of much smaller infill areas.
The main areas each have their own character.
The wildlife and some other areas are kept informal and only cut back occasionally, whilst the Country Park and Village Green are maintained in a more formal state.
The Country Park is now open (save for a small section at the northern end which will be opened once Lot 6 is complete) with the Play Area and Skate Park, as well as a footpath joining the Park to the facilities at Essex Regiment Way (Costa, McDonalds and the petrol station).
The wilder areas to the north will come forward at the completion of Marden’s development on the northern lake – expected in 2022.
